While in Japan, we stayed at the Shiba Park Hotel, which provided the perfect "home away from home" during our time in Tokyo. While there, I also had a chance to tour the 70-room Shiba Park Hotel 151. This newly renovated hotel used to be one of two main buildings of the Shiba Park Hotel.
151 ("ichi go ichi" in Japanese) is based on several notions, including being an easy-to-read name by guests from any country, being a place of rest (151, or "ikoi" in Japanese, means "rest"), and being a prime number, thus striving to offer unique hospitality and service.
The guest rooms at Shiba Park Hotel are chic and modern, yet comfortable and cozy. The decor incorporates traditional Japanese colors, such as karashi (mustard yellow) and shinshu (ochre red).
