Lobster rolls have been trending on social media here in Hawaii, since McDonald's recently started offering them in Hawaii for a limited time (see my post on McDonald's lobster roll here). While McDonald's version of the lobster roll is pretty decent considering it's "fast food", it got me yearning for a real lobster roll (especially since Gem hit up the East Coast with her family in June and recently wrote about one of the restaurants they dined at that had a mean-looking lobster roll!).
One of the two places on Oahu that offers a lobster roll that comes close to the ones you can get on the East Coast is at Livestock Tavern in downtown Honolulu.
It's double the price of the lobster roll from McD's, but it's got a lot more flavor and chunks of lobster, and it comes with fries or chips.
It's only available on the lunch menu, so if you want to try it, you'll need to visit the restaurant during lunch service (Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 2 pm).
