Scratch Kitchen is one of Honolulu's most popular brunch spots. At either location (Chinatown or Ward Village), patrons can expect to wait upwards of an hour or more to get a table. Since it would be impossible to bring the boys here due to the wait time, I was overjoyed when the mommy lunch bunch wanted to dine here for lunch during the work week.
I would definitely recommend coming here with a small group (a four-some is perfect!) so that you can order several items from the menu and share it family-style.
boudin fritters |
warm brussels + reggiano |
peaches n' cream french toast |
"milk & cereal" pancakes |
bc burger |
creole shrimp n' grits |
croque madame |
Out of everything we ordered, I'd say the peaches n' cream was my favorite. What's ironic is that I normally don't like to eat french toast, but Scratch Kitchen's french toast is a winner!
Although there's normally a wait for a table, when you put your name on the wait list, they'll ask for your cell number so that they can text you when your table is ready. This gives you the freedom to take the littles to the nearby playground or go shopping at the South Shore Market.
