Visit Boston: Summer Shack

While on a tour in Boston, we passed by the Summer Shack, which we were told was a great seafood restaurant, so after the tour, we went there for lunch.

Complimentary Corn Bread
Classic New England Clam Chowder

Beer Battered Fish Sandwich

2 Pieces of Jasper's Fried Chicken

Summer Shack Lobster Roll

Salmon Burger

Kids Grilled Cheese

Kids Pasta Shells with Cheese

Kids Brownie with Ice Cream

Classic Boston Cream Pie
I had to try the New England Clam Chowder.  It was really creamy and seasoned well, but I didn't care for the huge oyster crackers that topped the chowder.

I also ordered a couple of pieces of Fried Chicken.  I should've ordered only one piece since the pieces were so huge!  .  The fresh-from-the-fryer chicken was so tasty - some of the best fried chicken I've had anywhere.  The skin was crispy and not oily, and the meat was tender and juicy.

My husband ordered the Lobster Roll.  He said it was good, despite finding a few pieces of lobster shell in the sandwich.

Kids meals are $10 and include a drink and dessert.  The Kids Grilled Cheese comes with Tomato, but we asked them to omit it since my kids don't care for tomatoes.

Of course I had to try the Classic Boston Cream Pie since we were in Boston.  I'm usually not a fan of this dessert, but the Summer Shack's Boston Cream Pie was excellent.  It was not overly sweet, and the cake was light and fluffy.

Service was extremely slow, and although service was lacking, I thought overall the food was really good.
