Star of Honolulu's Three Star Sunset Dinner Show & Cruise

Last year I was fortunate to experience a Whale Watch Breakfast Cruise aboard the Star of Honolulu with my family.  We had such a great time, and ever since, I've been wanting to experience one of the dinner cruises.

The Star of Honolulu, which celebrates 60 years of Aloha this year, offers four different dinner cruises: Pacific Star (buffet), Star (3-course dinner with sirloin steak and all-you-can-eat crab legs), Three Star (5-course dinner with whole Maine lobster and tenderloin steak), and Five Star (7-course dinner with Captain's Welcome reception).

Nat and I were fortunate to have been able to experience the Three Star Sunset Dinner Show & Cruise on a recent Saturday evening.

Prior to boarding, we got a brief tour of the vessel, and we got to see the different dining areas, which were recently renovated with decor inspired by the tropical beauty of Hawaii.

After a pier-side welcome hula, guests were able to board the Star of Honolulu, and we made our way to the Three Star Dining Room.

Upon arriving at our table, we were welcomed with "Champagne," and Hawaiian music and jazz commenced.

Two premium beverages are included with the Three Star Dinner Cruise and Show, and Nat and I both indulged in virgin cocktails.

An appetizer bar with cheese, crackers, and fresh fruit, as well as furikake lavosh and sweet butter breadsticks at the table, were made available for guests to dine on prior to the dinner service starting.

The dinner included Hawaiian Greens (Purple Endive, Baby Romaine and Grape Tomatoes with Passion Fruit Tarragon Vinaigrette), Steamed Whole Maine Lobster with Fresh Lemon, Clarified Butter and Citrus Ponzu, Fire Roasted Tenderloin Steak with Sweet Madeira Wine Sauce, Homemade Yukon and Purple Okinawan Mashed Potatoes and Sautéed Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, and Hawaiian Mango Mousse Cake (fish, chicken, and gluten-free menu options available with 24-hours advance notice).

My favorite course was the lobster (and if you're like me and don't know how to crack open a lobster, one of the staff members will help you!).

In between courses Nat and I took photos as we cruised around Honolulu.

The views were gorgeous, and we witnessed a spectacular sunset.

After dinner guests were treated to the new "60 Years of Aloha" show.

Having made its debut in April, the show celebrated the marriage of Mr. & Mrs. Aloha and their journey throughout various Pacific islands.  The performances were awesome, and I loved how dancers were spread out across the dining area so all guests could get a good view.

At the end of the evening, guests were encouraged to get up and dance. Nat and I both agree that the entertainment and dancing was the highlight of the cruise.  It was definitely a fun way to end the evening!

The crew was just amazing in getting everyone excited, and prior to disembarking, I saw so many guests giving the staff members hugs!  The crew provided excellent service throughout the entire cruise.

The Star of Honolulu's Three Star Sunset Dinner Show & Cruise is not only great for tourists, but it's great for a corporate event (private rooms are available), wedding receptions, or even a fun moms night out!  The cruise is enjoyable for both families and couples as well (the Five Star dinner cruise is popular with couples).
