Visit New York: Ellen's Stardust Diner

While in the Times Square area, I looked online for a family-friendly spot for dinner, and Ellen's Stardust Diner popped up on my phone.

We headed to the restaurant only to be greeted by a very long line.  The diner is known for its singing waiters, and customers wait patiently to experience this spectacle.
We waited for about 30 minutes in line, and once we were seated, we were treated to continuous performances by the staff.
Great Bowls of Chili

Loaded Tots

Lenox Avenue Style Chicken & Waffles

Rachel's Mac & Cheese
The Loaded Tots were indeed loaded with lots of yumminess - chili, bacon, cheese, and sour cream.

The Chili had a bit of kick to it, and was topped with lots of cheddar and tortilla chips.

The Chicken & Waffles were presented like a sandwich, and served with tater tots on the side.

Rachel's Mac & Cheese was made with American, cheddar, and Velveeta.

The food was good - classic American fare, but I was surprised with how expensive meal prices were ($14.50 for kids meals 6 and under!).

And tip is included for parties of 5 or more.

And once an hour, a bucket is passed around for donations that go towards the staff's outside singing, acting, etc. lessons.

I guess you're really paying for all of that lively entertainment, and the chance to see a future Broadway star (a former Broadway star was performing during our dinner).

Service was good, and I must admit that I did enjoy the experience!
