Brioche loaves. |
I work near the old Larry's Bakery so I was very excited to hear a French Bakery would be taking over when Larry's closed up shop. Replacing the stick donuts and cute sugar cookies are loaves of brioche and French pastries like croissants, macarons, and cannele. They even added a selection of pizzas, paninis, sandwiches, salads, and coffees and teas.
The bakery is small and I liked that I wasn't overwhelmed by choices. Today I decided on the Soleil pizza (hand tossed thin crust pizza with bacon, tomatoes, and arugula) and a small French pastry called a cannele - known for its soft and chewy center and caramelized crust.
Earlier this month, the bakery had a soft opening and one of their current promotions is their $5 Pizza Friday where you can get any of their pizzas for $5 between the hours of 11am and 3pm. Hours are Monday thru Friday from 6:30am to 4:30 pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. They are also at the Kakaako Farmer's Market on Saturdays.
