The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Review

Since my family liked the last two LEGO movies, we were very excited to watch the premiere of The LEGO NINJAGO Movie on the big screen earlier this week.

The movie begins with Jackie Chan as a shop keeper telling a story to a young boy.  He speaks of a boy named Lloyd, voiced by Dave Franco, who has the worst father.  Turns out Llyod is the Green Ninja and his father is the evil warlord Garmadon (voiced by Justin Theroux) who the ninjas must battle to save NINJAGO City.

My kids (ages 6 and 10) loved the fast paced adventure and laughed constantly.  I, on the other hand, with no previous knowledge of the ninjas would ask a couple of questions here and there.  The jokes come rapidly shooting at you in the first part of the movie and I totally missed a couple punch lines.  The ones that I did catch made me giggle out loud.

I can see why my kids liked the movie so much as the action is quick and non-stop.  It might be a little much for the audience with a longer attention span.  The action does slow down in the end, but so does the movement of the story.  I felt it dragged a bit, but my kids enjoyed every minute.  Overall, I liked the movie and would definitely recommend it for kids!
