When visiting an outer island, finding delicious shave ice is always a priority. On this occasion, my friends and our families were coming down Waimea Canyon and making our way to our hotel in Poipu. The Fresh Shave was conveniently on the way.
The Fresh Shave specializes in shave ice using organic ingredients and local farm fresh produce. They make their shave ice by hand and use syrups that are homemade. The menu is especially cute as each shave ice flavor is named after a popular mustache style and every straw is decorated with a fun mustache sticker.
The location is equally playful. They serve up their yummy shave ice concoctions out of a silver trailer located on the side of Koloa Road. They are next door to Warehouse 3540 and there is plenty of parking and picnic tables.
On this hot day, my kids and I enjoyed the Fu Manchu - strawberry, banana, and cream topped with fresh strawberry puree and apple bananas. It was delicious and the ice was a perfect fine texture.
Beware they are closed on Sundays and Mondays and also their lines can get long. But they are definitely worth the wait!
