If you're interested in a sophisticated speakeasy experience, look no further than
Gaslamp. Gaslamp's focus is on progressing and enhancing the craft cocktail & beer scene with "a more flavorful cocktail, a more responsible dialogue, a stronger bond between patron and place."
I was fortunate to have been invited to an intimate gathering at this prohibition-era influenced venue, where we were served a variety of cocktails and bites.
Cuban Visionary - zaya 12 yr reserve rum, green chartreuse, lime, mint, angostora bitters, poema brut cava |
Buddhas Kiss - kikori, joto yuzu omoe, honeydew, shiso, jasmine, hawaiian honey
Wise & Noble - herradura blanco, cocchi, suze, mango, lime, lemon verbena, tumeric tincture |
Smoked Manhattan - rittenhouse rye, punt e mes, rhubarb bitters, kiawe smoke |
Fashion Forward - buffalo trace bourbon, korbel brandy, bonal, orange, cherry, angustora bitters |
The Buddhas Kiss was a favorite of the evening, but my personal fave was the Smoked Manhattan - loved the kiawe smoke essence!
We were also served a couple of dessert cocktails - perfect for those who like sweets!
The food was just as elegant as the drinks.

Watermelon Salad |
Tomato & Burrata Salad |
Bruschetta Quatro |
Artisan Cheese & Cured Meat Board |
Filet Mignon Trio (house-made bernaise, peppercorn, and bleu cheese butter sauces) |
Throughout the evening, a jazz pianist entertained us, elevating the ambience.
A few things to note - reservations are open a week in advance, and can be made via info@gaslamphi.com. You'll get a password to gain access to Gaslamp, and once there, you are encouraged to enjoy the company of those you are with.
Leaving the venue with any mementos is strictly prohibited. If caught, you will be permanently barred.
And don't expect to find any beer from Budweiser (although if you're lucky, they may still have some Unicorn Beer if you go!).

Gaslamp is definitely a place you'll need to experience for yourself!
