Cafe Taj Mahal

I love Indian food!  When a friend in LA posted an IG pic of her lunch at an Indian restaurant, I had a sudden craving for Indian food, so the next day I went to lunch at Cafe Taj Mahal.

Aloo Puri

Vegetable Samosa

Tamarind Chutney / Mint Yogurt
We ordered two appetizers - the Vegetable Samosa and Aloo Puri.  Stuffed with mashed potatoes, peas, and carrots, the samosas were huge.  We cut them into pieces for our family to share.  I was surprised by how much my kids loved them (especially since my youngest is averse to most veggies).  I loved the Aloo Puri - fried and puffed white flour stuffed with mashed potato, cilantro, and spices.  I couldn't stop eating it!

We also ordered a Three Choice Chicken Thali.  Each Thali comes with one naan or rice.  We opted for rice, and ordered extra naan.

Garlic Naan

Butter Naan

Chicken Curry Masala

Chicken Saag

Chicken Korma
The Chicken Korma was mild, with a sweet yogurt-based curry, and perfect for the kiddos.

I really enjoyed the Chicken Curry Masala, which had a tomato-based curry.  It had a little spiciness to it.

My husband liked the Chicken Saag, creamy spiced spinach curry, best.

Service was good, and the prices were pretty reasonable.  I still have my favorite Indian restaurants on Oahu, but Cafe Taj Mahal did satisfy my craving!
