I've been to
Orchids at
Halekulani numerous times for brunch, but for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I dined there for dinner with a friend who works in the PR department.

Because I had a far drive, I decided to go for a non-alcoholic drink for the evening. The Le Mint was perfect - a cool and refreshing slushy lemonade blended with fresh mint. It had the right balance of tartness and sweetness!
We ordered a trio of appetizers to begin with:

The Burrata Alla Panna was ultra creamy and paired well with the crispy croutons. The Scallops were tender and cheesy. The Foie Gras was my favorite of the three appetizers - rich and indulgent!

The Risotto was amazing, and the addition of the foie gras and truffle helped to highlight all of the flavors in this classic dish. I loved the walnut crust on the Australian Rack of Lamb. And although it may not sound like an appropriate accompaniment to Risotto or Lamb, we ordered the Truffle Parmesan Fries, which were completely addicting. No matter what you order, get the fries!

For dessert, we couldn't go without ordering the Signature Coconut Cake. It is absolutely divine. I am not a big coconut fan, but this dessert is dreamy!
And I love Halekulani's housemade gelato. It's one thing I would always look forward to at the Sunday brunch. I opted for scoops of Torrone, Chocolate, and Vanilla. Some of the best housemade gelato ever!

The service, as expected, was stellar, the views stunning, and the food spectacular.
