When Hawaiian Airlines launched its flights to JFK, Nat didn't hesitate to immediately book a flight (you can read about her experience here).
I couldn't wait until I had a chance to visit New York myself, and over the summer I finally traveled on Hawaiian Airlines to The City That Never Sleeps.
I love that Hawaiian Airlines continues to serve meals on it's Transpacific flights. Because the flight to JFK is long, there are two meal services, in addition to the Pau Hana Snack Mix and beverage service.
To JFK we were served Stir-Fried Chicken with Vegetables and Steamed White Rice, Coleslaw and a Cookie.
Prior to landing, we had Seasonal Fresh Fruits, Cheese, Crackers and a Chocolate-Covered Macadamia Nut.
On the return to Hawaii, we ate a Penne Pasta with Mushrooms, Beef Meatballs, Marinara Sauce and Grated Parmesan Cheese, Mixed Bean Salad and Cookie.
Prior to landing, we were once again served Seasonal Fresh Fruits, Cheese, Crackers and a Chocolate-Covered Macadamia Nut.
I really liked the food, especially the pasta. My kids ate up the cheese and crackers!
The flight to and from JFK is long - approximately 10 hours each way. On our return flight, the flight time was 11+ hours. Before we even pushed back, a young boy in the row behind us got really sick, and the flight crew was simply amazing to the family for the entire flight, doing everything they could to make the boy and his family comfortable.
That didn't surprise me, as we've often encountered exemplary service on Hawaiian Airlines.
We always look forward to flying on Hawaiian Airlines!
