Nadia and I recently met some friends at The Hideout at The Laylow hotel for a night of cocktails and great food.
Lime in the Coconut |
Kalua Egg Rolls |
Margherita Flatbread |
I thought the Kalua Pork Egg Rolls were okay. They seemed to be lacking any real flavor. However, the Margherita Pizza was quite good.
Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Tacos |
Ahi Poke Bowl |
Fish Bowl |
BBQ Chicken Bowl |
French Fries |
Even though I was fairly stuffed from the appetizers, I still ordered an entree - a BBQ Chicken Bowl. Atop a bed of rice were chicken, kimchi, greens, and an egg. The chili aioli that was drizzled on the chicken gave the entire dish a nice kick of flavor.
Even though I was beyond stuffed, I couldn't resist ordering dessert.
Guava Cronut Bread Pudding |
It was really dense (just the way I like bread pudding), with a hint of guava. Paired with the coconut gelato, it was amazing!
Our server was friendly, but service was pretty slow. Our server didn't come around as often as we'd hoped - it took a while for us to order, get our food, and even get our check! We ended up giving our check to another server because we were tired of waiting around for our server.
Despite that, I'd definitely consider visiting again because of the great cocktails and ambience...and the fantastic dessert!
