One of my favorite weekend activities is to get outdoors for a hike and then reward myself with a yummy meal. This time the reward was popular Kailua brunch spot Over Easy. Now we just had to choose a hike. After some research, my friend suggested Kawainui Marsh Trail, an easy out and back path that is great for all skill levels.
The path is about 2.5 - 3 miles roundtrip and remains pretty flat. It was more like a walking path than a hike and you’re likely to see kids, dogs, walkers, joggers, and bicyclists. It was the perfect trail to catch up on some conversation and work up our appetites while enjoying beautiful windward views.
Parking and restrooms are available at the park and the park is open from 7am to 7pm. The trail is unshaded so bring your sunscreen.
