Machete's Mean Sandwiches

I don't usually seek out sandwiches to eat when I go out to lunch, but I was eager to try Machete's Mean Sandwiches after seeing so many delicious-looking sandwiches on Instagram!

I met a friend at the newer location in the Kapalama Shopping Center.

We decided to split two different sandwiches:

The Machete

Turkey Avocado and Bacon

The sandwiches are divided into three categories - Mean (basics like Ham & Cheese), Meaner (e.g. Roast Beef & Ham), and Meanest (e.g. Italian, Pastrami, etc.).

And then there's The Machete, which is in its own category - a sandwich piled high with over a half pound of turkey, pastrami, ham, salami, cheddar, provolone, mayo, onion, lettuce, tomato, oregano, and Italian vinaigrette.

My friend and I shared that on Homestyle White Bread, as well as a "Meanest" sandwich - Turkey Avocado and Bacon on Cracked Wheat.

First of all, the breads by themselves are amazing. I could just eat the bread alone and be happy. It's so soft and so yummy! The White bread is enriched with milk, honey, and real butter, while the Cracked Wheat is enhanced with cracked red spring wheat and honey.

You can add ingredients to customize your sandwich (some are free, some are an additional cost), but we simply ordered the sandwiches as stated on the menu.

Both sandwiches tasted as good as they looked!

I can't wait to try out other sandwiches on the menu!
