Hawaii Food & Wine Festival: HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen #HFWF18


Yesterday thousands gathered at the Hawaii Convention Center for Hawaii Food & Wine Festival: HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen.

This family-friendly event offers all sorts of fun games, crafts, food, celeb chef photo ops, and so much more!  


Several of Hawaii Food & Wine Festival's world-renowned chefs were available for photos and autographs.



The Hawaii Gas Presents: Localicious Recipe Contest featured six finalists in two different age groups as they showcased their culinary skills.  





Rachelle Anne Ramelb (grades 9-12 winner), Adam Richman, Roselyn Lee (grades 4-8 winner) - Each winner received a 2-night staycation at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa!

The Queen's Health Systems Presents Celebrity Chef Fitness Challenge with Corey Campbell had keiki teaming up with chefs in fun competitions.


Hundreds signed up to decorate cookies with Food Network’s Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman.




Several cooking Keiki Cooking Classes were held throughout the day with Chef Matt Young of Hula Grill Waikiki.  The kids made all sorts of yummy creations, such as Roasted Pumpkin Ravioli, and the famous Hula Pie!

There was a reading and signing by Eileen Wacker, author of several children's books, including Red Penguin and the Missing Sushi.  Her son, Ethan, star of Disney's Bizaardvark, as well as her daughter, Natalie, also joined in on the fun.   



There were lots of food and drink vendors on site, including the Zippy’s Presents Made in Hawaii Marketplace for Kids by Kids, through which public schools sold their locally-made products.

HMAA's keiki activity tent had all sorts of games, Kamehameha Schools' Sustainability Center offered hands-on cultural activities, and House Mart / Ben Franklin Crafts featured a variety of different craft projects.




At the end of the event was a Sunset Mele on the Rooftop screening of Ferdinand.

It definitely was a fun-filled day at Keiki in the Kitchen!
