My mom was a teacher so reading was a big part of my childhood. I was raised reading books on my grandfather’s lap and my parents have often told me a story when they thought I had learned to read at a very young age, but in fact just memorized my favorite book by heart after hearing it so many times. And that love for reading has never left.
So when Quarto Knows asked us to review some baby books we were more than happy to oblige. The books we chose, Who’s Hiding and Fergus The Fire Engine are fun, colorful and interactive.
Fergus the Fire Engine ($8.95) follows the story of a fire engine as he learns more about the truck’s job in emergency services. If my baby is anything like friends’ baby boys he’ll be mad for trucks so I’m sure will love it.
I like the interactive sliding pieces and pop ups in Who’s Hiding ($8.09), which asks readers to find different, popular jungle animals, told with interactive sliding pieces and vibrant colors.
Both books are perfect for reading to the Mini Munesue now (while he kicks around in my belly), and I’m sure he’ll love them as he develops his own love for reading later.
