During our whirlwind Hawaii Mom Blog momcation at the Fairmont Kea Lani, we managed to carve out some time in our itinerary for spa treatments at the Willow Stream Spa. All three of us have kids, so this girls-only retreat would not be complete without a spa day.
Since the three of us wanted to get treatments simultaneously, we booked our treatments in advance (thanks Nadia!). We booked ours by phone, but you can also book by email or on-line.
We arrived well ahead of our scheduled appointment time, so we took our time getting ready in the Wahine locker room.
We each got to select our locker according to our slipper size, which came pre-loaded with a robe, towel, and spa slippers.
After we changed into our robes, we relaxed in the spa's co-ed lounge area. We practically had the entire room to ourselves, so we decided to take a few selfies of ourselves while we were waiting (I'll spare you the outtakes!).
The lounge had a snack station consisting of herbal tea and healthy bites...
Their kula lavender herbal tea was excellent!
Of course I had to try the granola bites and energy bites.
The energy bites were really ono - I'm going to try to replicate this recipe one day soon....
It's a good thing we arrived early, because it was nice to relax and chat in the lounge. The spa had virtually no cell or wifi service (probably because they have a no-electronics policy - oops!) so we were forced to talk to one another instead of scrolling through Instagram.
One by one we were called into our private treatment rooms by our therapists. Here's were I spent the next sixty minutes ....
I opted for the sixty-minute Muscle Recovery Deep Tissue massage. It was wonderful. My therapist used the perfect amount of pressure and hit all of my problem areas, which are usually my shoulders and calves. The massage lotion/oil that my therapist used smelled really nice and felt good on my skin. After massaging my worries and stress away, my sixty minutes were up, at which point I regretted not signing up for a ninety minute session.
After my session was done, I walked past the Wahine-only lounge to take a peek inside. It's much smaller than the co-ed lounge, and didn't have those delicious energy bites that I was yearning for, but it looked like a nice place for girl talk.
It was getting late and we still had to get settled in our villa, so we headed back to the locker room to take a shower. As I was looking for the showers, I came across the three Hawaiian Rain Experience Showers. I wish I had time to try these out, but maybe next time.
For some reason, spas have THE BEST shower systems, and the Willow Stream Spa is no exception. Each individual shower had its own door and was equipped with shaving cream, disposable razors, shower caps, towels, shampoo, conditioner and body soap.
Oh how I wish I could have a shower system as good as this one in my own home! The water comes pouring out of the spout with the perfect amount of pressure - I could have spent another sixty minutes in there.
After my heavenly shower, I headed to the spacious sink area to make use of their hair dryers, hair gel, lotion, and deodorant - pretty much everything I needed for a night out with the girls.
On the way out we browsed through the nice selection of cosmetics, perfumes, and bath and body products in the Willow Spa Boutique.
If you're staying in the Wailea area or heading there soon, I highly recommend that you include a spa treatment at the Willow Stream Spa in your travel plans - your mind and body will thank you for it!
