A big thank you to Ice Monster Hawaii for hosting the entire Hawaii Mom Blog team and our families to their unique shave ice sensations! The Ice Monster creations were like nothing we have ever had. The flavors were distinctly rich and the ice textures were light and creamy. Although each ice sensation was huge enough to share, we easily gobbled up our own.
Ice Monster originated in Taiwan and their Waikiki location on Kuhio Ave is their first U.S. brick and mortar. They offer 6 flavors on their menu made from the freshest ingredients. The Fresh Mango Sensation is their best seller while the Matcha and Papaya Sensations are Hawaii exclusives.
My kids and I opted for the Bubble Milk Tea Sensation, Fresh Strawberry Sensation, and the Matcha Sensation. They were all so delicious! The shave ice is complemented by creamy panna cotta and gelato. We especially liked the perfectly chewy warm boba that comes with the Bubble Milk Tea and Matcha Sensations. The black sesame gelato that accompanies the Matcha Sensation is delicious on its own.
