Broken Rice

Sometimes the best plans are the last-minute ones.  Laurie, Denise, Melissa, and I have been trying for months to plan a get-together. 

Then one Friday morning, Laurie texted us to see if we could meet for lunch that Sunday - two days later.  As luck would have it, we all had time to meet!

We met at Broken Rice, and I was secretly hoping that the Bo Kho (Beef Rib Stew) would be available as a special again - and the lucky streak continued, because it was!

It was just as good as I remember when I had it the first time.  Tender beef, flavorful and aromatic broth - simply comforting and absolutely delicious.

The Goi Chay consisted of tofu, basil, mint, shredded carrots, mushrooms, and jicama.  It was light, but very tasty. 

The Bò Lúc Lắc is a very popular dish at Broken Rice.

The Tom Cam included pork chop, chicken, shredded pork and clear noodle, and meatloaf with house slaw.

The Crab Bun Rieu and Banh Xeo were two other specials of the day.  The Banh Xeo, a seafood pancake-type dish, was so good.  I could've eaten the entire thing myself!

The food was fantastic, and the service was too.  You can really tell how much love and soul the owners put into this restaurant by how the customers are treated, as well as how much goes into each dish.
