That's right - French Fries and Ice Cream.
Giapo is known for its inventive flavors and offering an ice cream experience like no other.
I actually only wanted to get Hokey Pokey ice cream, since that what New Zealand is known for. However, when you go to Giapo, you have the option of experiencing a tasting (which is why the line takes so long to move).
There are two groups of tasting going on at a time. You get to sample every single flavor, and the employee goes over the "Different Ways to Hold" ice cream (like the Selfie Cone, which comes complete with its own edible frame). It was during the tasting that I found out about the Hot Chips in a Cone.
A waffle cone is filled with twice-fried (so they don't get soggy) hand-cut agria chips and ice cream of your choice.
This sweet and salty combo was sublime! The fries were extra crispy, and when eaten together with the NZ Hokey Pokey ice cream, which was covered with Milk Chocolate and Crunchy Honeycomb, I was in heaven!
Giapo is definitely worth the wait (it was a total of 40 minutes of standing in line and going through the tasting until we got our ice cream).

I ordered two flavors, but only one could go with the Hot Chips, and the other, the best-selling Giapo Buono, was served separately in a cup. The Giapo Buono consisted of caramel, hazelnut praline, and amaretti.
We also ordered Paraoa Parai, which is traditional Maori Fried Bread, stuffed with"Kiwi as" Afghan Cookies and Miller's Coffee and Hazelnut ice creams.
