Visit Kansas: Evel Knievel Museum

The Evel Knievel Museum houses an amazing collection of memorabilia and a number of intriguing exhibits all centered around the one and only Evel Knievel.

At the Evel Knievel Museum, guests can watch video clips of this world-renowned daredevil setting records (and even getting hurt), get an up close look at the bikes used to fly over vehicles, and see the famous "Big Red" Mack Truck & Trailer.

From the patriotic suits and old photos, to the colorful posters and collectible knickknacks, there was an astonishing number of items!

My kids thought it was cool to watch the old clips, and one of my sons was in awe at the long list of jumps that Evel Knievel had completed and attempted.

The kids loved the interactive exhibits.

Bad to the Bones lets you click on a part of Evel Knievel's body, and it would say how a specific bone was broken, and will even show a video of the jump that resulted in the broken bone!

The Jump Planner was a fun game where the kids could design a jump with a specific type of vehicle and over a certain distance to see if they would be successful.  It was quite harder than it seemed!

The Jump is a must-try.  For an additional charge, you can participate in a virtual reality jump, where you sit on a motorcycle, and put on special gear that puts you at the scene of a jump, as if you were Evel Knievel himself.

It really did make my stomach turn as I was about to jump.  Unfortunately, I did suffer "virtual reality sickness," but we all thought it was such a neat experience.

If you're in Topeka, be sure to stop by the Evel Knievel Museum!
