Manoa Valley Theatre Presents "Once"

Manoa Valley Theatre continues its 51st season with an award-winning musical love story by Enda Walsh, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová “Once” November 14th – December 1st. Based on the Academy Award winning movie by the same name – it’s the tender story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music is the core of this vital and surprising contemporary musical. In 2012 “Once” received twelve Tony Award nominations and won eight awards, including Best Musical and Best Book.

Director and Choreographer is Mathias Maas. Music Director is Matthew Mazzella. Set design is by Michelle Bisbee. Scenic Artist is Willie Sabel. Lighting design is by Janine Myers. Master Electrician is Jonah Bobilin. Co-costume design is by Jennifer Hart and Trudy Hodnefield. Props design is by Sara Ward. Hair and make-up design by Lisa Ponce de Leon. Sound design is by Jason Taglianetti. The stage manager is Leigh Bugarin. Performing in the show are Jarren Amian as Guy, Jarod Bailon as Da, Bailey Bugarin as Ivonka, Melanie CarriƩ as Girl, Nadia CarriƩ as Eamon, Moku Durant as Bank Manager, Heather Eddy as Ex-Girlfriend, Noah Faumuina as Svec, Suzanne Green as Baruska, Michael Cruz Hartsick as Andrej, David Heulitt as Billy, Meenakshi Kutty as Emcee ("MC") and Cherilyn Polliard as Reza.

The production will run November 14 – December 1. Show times are Wed. 7:30 p.m., Thur. 7:30 p.m., Fri. 8 p.m., Sat. 8 p.m., and Sun. 4 p.m. Tickets are $40. Seniors and military are admitted for $35, youth 25 years old and younger are $22. Minimum age is 13. Call 988-6131 or purchase tickets online at manoavalleytheatre.com. The doors will open for seating one hour prior to each performance. Beverages will be available for purchase on site. No outside food or drinks are allowed. The play is performed in two acts with one intermission.
