One of the restaurant openings I was very excited for was
Halekulani Bakery & Restaurant at
Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani.

Warabi and Opae Salad |
|
Kauai Shrimp |
|
Braised Short Rib |
|
Maui French Onion Soup |
|
Salmon Chowder |
|
Housemade Fries |
|
Artichoke Tartine |
|
Scallop Crudo |
|
Hawaiian Yellow Fin Ahi Poke |
The restaurant focuses on local ingredients, with a menu boasting a legend of Hawaii producers from which ingredients are sourced from.
One of my favorites was the Fresh Artichoke Tartine. The sandwich is usually served on Grilled Sourdough, but it was made into bite-size portions for our table. Made with Parmigiano-Reggiano and Gruyere, Herbs, Crème Fraiche,
Housemade Tomato Chutney, and Spinach Pesto, it was so delightful. I would definitely order the sandwich with the Housemade Fries, which were addicting! Even though I was so full from an earlier dinner, I couldn't stop eating the fries.
Another favorite was the Warabi and Opae Salad. Consisting of Big Island Fiddlehead Fern,
Red Onions, Tomatoes,
Soy Vinaigrette, this salad was light, yet very tasty.
I also loved the Maui French Onion Soup. I'm just a fan of French Onion Soup, and this one did not disappoint.

Cassis Chocolate Mousse |
|
Blood Orange and Lychee Creamsicle with Candied Lemon Gelato |
No matter how full you are, do not skip dessert! The Blood Orange and Lychee Creamsicle was as delicious as it looked. If you love creamsicle, you'll love this dessert.
The Cassis Chocolate Mousse was almost too pretty to devour. Chocoholics will enjoy this gorgeous treat.
I look forward to returning to try even more desserts!
