Hawaii Island Goat Dairy

Late last year I was fortunate to tour Hawaii Island Goat Dairy with the Na`au team (they do not do public tours).

Chef Brian Hirata has used the Hawaii Island Goat Dairy's products in several dishes, so it was great to see what goes into make their cheese so special.

Hawaii Island Goat Dairy is known for their chevre, and owners Carl and Joann are proud of their products, which all start with "happy goats."

The goats produce the milk that goes into their fabulous cheeses that many popular restaurants around the state use.

Like many producers, they have had to downsize operations during the current pandemic, but they continue to offer their products on the Big Island at farmers markets and select retailers, as well as online.
