This Chicken and Green Beans dish is another quick and easy meal!
If you have teriyaki sauce on hand, it will be even easier, but this recipe requires just a few basic ingredients, and it was very tasty. Everyone in the family enjoyed it!
Chicken and Green Beans
Ingredients:
- 2 T vegetable oil, divided
- 2 1/2 c green beans trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2 t minced garlic
- 1/4 c + 1 T water, divided
- 1/4 c soy sauce
- 3 T honey
- 2 T flour
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Heat 1 T oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add beans and cook for approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the green beans from the pan and place in a bowl.
- Add the remaining 1 T of oil.
- Add chicken to pan; season with salt and pepper, and cook on medium-high for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add green beans and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, whisk together the 1/4 c water, honey, and soy sauce.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together the flour and 1 T of cold water.
- Pour soy sauce mixture over chicken and green beans; cook for 1 minute.
- Whisk in flour mixture and bring to a boil; cook for another minute or until sauce has thickened. Whisk in the cornstarch and bring to a boil; cook for 1 more minute or until sauce has just started to thicken, stirring constantly.
