A couple of days ago, a friend and co-worker suddenly passed away.
I'm still in shock.
And it's so heartbreaking to know that his family could not be with him in the hospital due to the pandemic.
There was an outpouring of posts on social media, including from myself, about what kind of person he was.
To me, he was incredibly smart, very generous, and he always had your back.
I thanked him a lot for work that he helped me with, but I never told him what I thought of him or how much I appreciated what he did for me.
I realized I need to tell and show people more often how much I appreciate them. Sometimes we assume they know how we feel, but it never hurts to express gratitude.
For some, they show appreciation in gestures because expressing how they feel is not their thing, and that's okay.
As long as you do it, that's the important thing.
Because it'll be a shame for someone to be told how much you appreciate him / her on a social media post that he or she will never read.
