Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce

I received bok choy in my CSA from Oahu Fresh, and decided to make some Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce.

It makes a great side dish, or you can even add it to noodles!

Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb bok choy
  • 1 T vegetable oil
  • 1 T sesame oil
  • ¼ c water
  • 1 t grated fresh ginger root
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 T oyster sauce
  • 1 T light soy sauce
  • 1 T brown sugar
Directions:
  • Rinse and dry the bok choy.
  • Trim off ends; keep white parts separate from green.
  • In a small bowl, mix the oils.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix together the water, ginger, garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
  • Heat half of the oil mixture in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  • Add the bok choy stems first; stir fry for 2-3 minutes, then add the leaves.
  • Add in remaining oil mixture, and stir fry 1-2 minutes.
  • Place bok choy into a serving dish.
  • Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir constantly until thickened, about 3 minutes.
  • Pour sauce over bok choy and toss.
