It makes a great side dish, or you can even add it to noodles!
Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 lb bok choy
- 1 T vegetable oil
- 1 T sesame oil
- ¼ c water
- 1 t grated fresh ginger root
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 T oyster sauce
- 1 T light soy sauce
- 1 T brown sugar
Directions:
- Rinse and dry the bok choy.
- Trim off ends; keep white parts separate from green.
- In a small bowl, mix the oils.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together the water, ginger, garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
- Heat half of the oil mixture in a large skillet over medium high heat.
- Add the bok choy stems first; stir fry for 2-3 minutes, then add the leaves.
- Add in remaining oil mixture, and stir fry 1-2 minutes.
- Place bok choy into a serving dish.
- Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir constantly until thickened, about 3 minutes.
- Pour sauce over bok choy and toss.
