Lulumahu Falls Trail

Lulumahu Falls Trail is rated moderate and about 3 miles in and out.  Best part is that it's shady and cool and there is a beautiful waterfall at the end.  Worst part is that it's muddy.

I entered the location into my GPS and it led me to a dirt road full of parked cars off Pali Highway.  The trail is located on private government property so if you do not want to get fined, it's best to pay $2.50 for a permit you can access online here.  There were lots of hikers and the trail is clearly marked with ribbons which made it pretty easy to follow.

The trail will take you through a very serene bamboo forest and then along the Nu'uanu Reservoir before going up to Lulumahu Falls - a 50 foot plus waterfall.  Along the way, you will cross streams and climb rocks.  Be careful because the trail can be muddy and slippery.  Also, be sure to bring bug spray and a trash bag for your muddy shoes!
