Last week our county extended the lockdown for another two weeks. So far the efforts of the second shutdown seem to be working, but based on social media posts, there are still many people being complacent.
It also worries me that there are not enough resources to help the communities that need the most assistance.
Fortunately, most people I personally know fall into the mask-wearing, social distancing end of the spectrum.
I know everyone has their own comfort levels and beliefs on their "freedoms," and living in Hawaii, it's tough to not hang out with friends to talk story, or want to give your friend - or even people you've just met - a hug. That's our style.
I don't know how much longer we'll have to live in this "new normal," but we have to keep doing our best so we can one day get back to the "old normal."
Stay safe. Mask up.
