I love cookbooks. Not so much because I enjoy cooking (I prefer eating over cooking), but mostly because of the photos and the possibility of the food I create looking just like those depicted in the cookbooks. In fact, most of the times the photos are what will compel me to order a cookbook.
The `Ohana Grill Cookbook by Adrienne Robillard and Dawn Sakamoto Paiva is an example of one I would order - filled with simple, delicious, and local recipes, plus amazing photos that make me want to try every recipe!
I was fortunate to receive a copy of the cookbook from Dawn, who also did the amazing photography for the cookbook.
Flipping through the vibrant photos of SPAM Musubi, Kalbi Short Ribs, and Macaroni Salad not only made my mouth water, but really enticed me to try each and every recipe.
However, I decided to stick with familiarity, and in doing so, I picked a dessert for the first recipe to try - Grilled Banana with Toasted Coconut.
It was a quick and easy dessert, and grilling the bananas reminded me of a dessert my grandma used to make when I was a child. This is a great cookbook to add to your collection, or gift to those out of state!
