Redesigned Hau Tree Restaurant at Kaimana Beach Hotel

No longer the New Otani Hotel, the renamed and reimagined Kaimana Beach Hotel is the home for the redesigned Hau Tree restaurant. The pink table cloths are gone and the ambiance is a thousand times elevated to a modern beachy vibe with beautiful sunset and ocean views.

Our reservation was at 5:30pm, a perfect time for a winter Hawaiian sunset. Seated steps away from the beach, we decided mai tais would make the most suitable cocktail. For appetizers, we tried the baked oysters, trout roe verrine, and kahuku corn salad. For my entree, I had the ginger scallion steamed mahi. We ended with the yuzu tart and toasted coconut cake. The meal was delicious and full of flavor. It was a wonderful experience and I am already looking for upcoming occasions to return. Hau Tree is definitely a new favorite!

The beach-chic menus for brunch, lunch, dinner were created by Chef Chris Kajioka (Senia, Miro Kaimuki, Waicoco) and Executive Chef Alan Takasaki (Le Bistro) and the cocktail menu by Jen Akrill (Sky and Top of Waikiki). With a team like that, it's no doubt foodies will be flocking to the restaurant. Here's a quick tip, register for a resy account and make a reservation!
