TRY Coffee opens in BoxJelly coworking space at Ward Center

After spending more than a decade honing his craft at local coffee roasters and studying the fine nuances of cupping and growing from exemplary coffee experts that include Willem Boot, Scott Rao and Hawaii coffee farmer Tommy Greenwell, Timothy "TK" Yamada is proud to open his first coffee bar.

"What I want customers to experience more than anything is discovery" says Yamada who is focused on creating custom experiences for his guests. TRY Coffee, offers pour over Chemex, Aero Press and Hario V6 drip coffee along with a full espresso menu. Each brewing method is paired with a roast that enhances the flavor of the coffee. Yamada welcomes the opportunity to create custom drinks for guests based on their mood and tastes.

Yamada selected natural Hawaiian syrups by Pono Potions and Rishi Teas to compliment his coffee offerings. Hot and cold matcha drinks and Droplet, a sparkling, stress balancing drink made with whole fruit juices, adaptogens and aroma therapeutic superfoods are also on the menu.

His introduction to coffee came from helping his sister who managed a coffee shop in Ala Moana Center. "It was the community surrounding coffee that had me hooked and I grew to love coffee" says Yamada who couldn't find a more perfect fit for his first coffee endeavor than a coworking space known for its vibrant community.

TRY Coffee is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
