I had an amazing dinner experience when I dined at Hau Tree in early January, but I was most excited about their daily brunch. Gem was definitely on the same page as me as she invited Nat and I to brunch (so hard) this past weekend. It had been just about a year since the three of us had gotten together and there was no better place to reunite than at the oh-so-pretty Hau Tree. We sat just steps away from the beach under a hau tree with a gorgeous ocean view to take in while we enjoyed our brunch.

Hau Tree has both an outdoor dining area and a private indoor dining room. |
Gem had the very popular and eye pleasing avocado toast with a side order of bacon. She said it was really good and the semolina bread and tomato jam really made it stand out. Nat had the humongous double patty Kaimana burger that comes with bacon, tomato jam, and special sauce on a fresh La Tour roll. She enjoyed it and because it was so big she had to eat it with a fork and knife. I opted for the Hau Tree eggs benedict, my favorite savory brunch item. Unfortunately, my english muffin was toasted a little too long and I couldn't cut into it. The server corrected the situation right away and I was enjoying a most perfect eggs benedict.

Since we couldn't decide between the Hau Tree french toast and the lemon ricotta pancakes, Gem made an executive decision and ordered us both (she is the best!). I loved the pancakes and would definitely order them again. We ended with a yuzu tart and Chef Mourad generously sent out the toasted coconut cake. Both were delicious.

Brunch is served daily from 10am to 2pm. Definitely make a reservation if you are coming on the weekend as the restaurant is busy. I'm already looking forward to my next brunch reservation!
