Visit Hilo: Kalbi Express

Since we were in the area, we decided to pick up lunch from Kalbi Express, which is located in the Waiakea Center Food Court.


Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken

Korean Chicken


I ordered the Korean Chicken. It tasted good, but it didn't taste like any kind of Korean Chicken that I'm used to eating.  It simply tasted like fried chicken in shoyu.  However, the accompanying sauce that came with the food was really tasty, and I ended up dipping the chicken in there.  

My friend said his Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken was just "okay."

The Banchan was also just okay - it seemed everything in our plates was underseasoned.

The service was friendly, and it was a lot of food for the price, but it's too bad that flavor-wise, our entrees fell a bit short.
