Ev still talks about Hawaii almost every day.
It comes up randomly in conversation. Whenever we talk about crabs (dont ask why we’re talking about crabs, he LOVES hermit crabs) he immediately goes to babbling about going to the beach with Papa and Grandma. And how he’s going to go to Hawaii. Or the last few nights at bedtime, the last book he insists on reading is “Goodnight, Hawaii.”
So when Keiki KauKau offered to send us some of their “new toys” (as Ev refers to all toys) to review, of course we said yes.
Hawaii Farmer’s Market Play Food Set
The Hawaii Farmer’s Market Play Food Set ($38) is the perfect addition to your collection of Keiki KauKau food sets (we have one already) and comes with its own tote! It includes several Hawaii farmer’s market favorites like banana, avocado, honey and poi.
Like all of Keiki KauKau’s play food sets, the toys are made with FSC-certified wood. And purchasing one of these sets will also keep local our local families' opus full — for each one purchased Keiki KauKau donates 5 meals to the Hawai‘i Food Bank.
We have been visiting the Old Town Alexandria Farmer’s Market here, and while it doesn’t have these Hawaii treats Ev now understands the concept of a farmer’s market and loves to play with these and mix them in with his other Keiki KauKau food toys.
Designed to resemble a "3D postcard," ALOHALAND ($24) is the perfect miniature playlet for small hands to play with — or decorate your room as a dresser or nightstand topper, to bring a taste of Hawaii wherever you are. The painted wooden blocks feature things that are iconic to the islands such as Diamond Head, Iolani Palace, a shave ice stand, and shrimp truck.
Note that this product is only safe for children ages three or older and does contain small parts that could be a choking hazard.
With the holidays just around the corner these are the perfect gift for the keiki on your gift list that already have all things Keiki KauKau. :) And even better, it supports local!
