Sun Noodle's latest ramen kit to hit the markets is the Mazemen ramen kit. Mazemen is a style of ramen that is broth-less. Instead of being served with soup, the ramen noodles are tossed in an umami-rich sauce that is packed with flavor.
When Sun Noodle invited us to try their new Mazemen ramen kit (by the way, Sun Noodle is the first company to come out with a Mazemen ramen kit to cook at home!), I immediate replied with "when can I pick it up??!" I just love any kind of ramen (except the spicy ones), and I was excited to make Mazemen at home, since it's not commonly found at the ramen-yas here on Oahu.
The Mazemen kit comes with two servings of noodles and sauce, all individually packed. The instructions were easy to follow - simply boil the noodles for 3 minutes ...
pour one packet of sauce into a serving bowl ...
after the noodles are cooked, drain the noodles, and toss in the sauce. It's that simple!
As with all Sun Noodle kits, you add your own garnishes. I decided to add crispy bacon (I cooked my bacon in an air fryer!), green onions from my yard, and sesame seeds.
I loved the thick, chewy noodles that the Mazemen kits come with. It really holds the sauce to the noodles!
My noodle-loving son was watching me prepare the Mazemen and he wanted to try the noodles. He ended up eating the entire serving, so I had to make the second serving for myself!
You can find these Mazemen kits at Don Quijote Kaheka, Pearl City (COMING SOON), and Waipahu (COMING SOON) as well as Marukai!
