I first heard about Don's Grill from a friend 3 years ago, and another friend told me how much he enjoyed the spaghetti there.
Whenever I perused the menu, nothing really struck me, but what finally won me over were the desserts.
Linguine Bolognese |
The Linguine Bolognese (aka spaghetti) was just as my friend remembered - it was hearty and comforting. Nothing you'd expect to find at an authentic Italian restaurant, but it was local, home-style cooking. The meal came with mixed vegetables, garlic bread, and your choice of soup or salad.
Salad |
Onion Rings |
The Onion Rings were extra crispy, but lacked any flavor.
BLT |
Mango Cheesecake |
Chocolate Cream Pie |
The desserts were everything I hoped for. Simple, yet so good!
The Mango Cheesecake was my fave of the two. I love cheesecake, and this cheesecake was rich, with just a hint of mango flavor (my friend thought the crust was really good).
The Chocolate Cream Pie was silky smooth, but I have had better pie crusts elsewhere.
A couple of people told me I need to go back to try the Mud Pie (which they were out of the night I went), so now I'm eager to try it!
