Omakase Dinner with Cocktail Pairing at Bar Maze

I had a wonderful dinner at Bar Maze this past weekend.  If you aren't familiar, Bar Maze is a popular restaurant in the Kakaako area by Justin and Tom Park, the same owners as the award winning cocktail bar, Bar Leather Apron.

The omakase dinner course from Head Chef, Ki Chung, and Head Bartender, Justin Park, features a seasonal 5-course tasting menu with your choice of cocktail or non-alcoholic pairings. The cost of the meal is $175 per guest with additional supplement offerings.  It's a splurge, but I thought it was well worth the dining experience of our special occasion.

First course pairing: Shochu, vodka, pomegranate, bergamot, elderflower, citrus bubbles

First course: hamachi, fennel, basil, winter citrus

Second course: scallop, seaweed dashi butter sauce, ogo, daikon, brioche

We added the kaluga hybrid caviar supplement.
