While strolling through Gwangjang Market, I came across a booth, Gwangjang Market Doughnut Twists, that had an extremely long line. Intrigued, I noticed they were selling some kind of donuts. I'm not a fan of donuts or long lines, so I decided to pass on it.
But then, after dinner, the kids were wanting something sweet (as usual), and I figured why not stand in line (even though it was rainy). The donuts must be good, right?
Well, the twist donuts, or Kkwabaegi were indeed good.
They are made hot (so hot that you can't eat them right away or you'll risk burning your hands and tongue) and fresh right in front of you. The dough is pulled and twisted, fried, then sprinkled with sugar.
For less than a dollar a twist, it was a nice treat!
Definitely worth the wait in line.
