Visit Seoul: Namdaemun Market

Namdaemun Market is another popular open market full of street vendors selling everything from clothes to food.

There were many, many stalls selling clothing, bags, and socks (it reminded me of the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet), and there were several vendors cooking food in the middle of the street as well.

We decided to get some food at a street vendor after the kids saw something they wanted - hot dogs on a stick!

The vendor brought out a makeshift table and chairs, cooked up the food, and presented them on plastic bag-covered or paper towel-lined trays.

We then walked around the market more and decided to get Hotteok.
I saw a few street vendors making them throughout our time in South Korea, so I finally decided to try one.

This sweet pancake is such a simple dessert, filled with sugar and cinnamon, but it was so yummy!

It was neat to see them being made fresh, and it was a perfect, toasty treat on a chilly evening.
