Another restaurant that was recommended to us while in New Orleans was Blue Oak BBQ. Once you get inside the restaurant, you stand in line, place your order, then find a table inside or out (it was pretty chilly out so we decided to eat inside, where there are several long community tables).

I was craving veggies, so I got the Blue Oak Salad. It was enormous! A bed of greens was topped with pickled red onions, carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and your choice of meat (I had brisket). It was so filling (I could barely even eat half!) and exactly what I wanted.
I also tried the BBQ Nachos, which were really delicious. Tortilla chips were loaded with brisket, queso, pico de gallo, bbq sauce, and jalapenos.
Everyone loved the BBQ'd meats, all of which were so flavorful and smoky, and so tender! It was one of my kids first time having ribs, and he just loved how delicious it was.
When you consider how generous the portion sizes of the sides are, you really get a lot of food for a very reasonable price.
I highly recommend Blue Oak BBQ as well for fantastic BBQ in New Orleans!
