This women-led organization oversees six acres of Pomo land in Northern California. They have an "honor" farm stand open on select days, where they sell a selection of flowers, fruits, and vegetables. At the time of our visit, they were raising funds for Maui wildfire relief efforts and was also planning an event to raise funds.
We took a quick tour of the grounds, where they have a greenhouse, barn, and space for events.
She was an inspiration to listen to. She leads with her heart, and teaches with her soul, and is constantly learning so she can share her knowledge with others.
After our talk with U`i, we bought some fruits to enjoy on our short trip.
If you find yourself in the area, be sure to stop by not only for some fresh produce, but also to see the inspiring work that is done at Xa Kako Dile.
We were very fortunate to meet up with Executive Director / Farm Manager, U`i while there. Originally from Hawai`i, she found herself on the grounds of Fortunate Farm (now Xa Kako Dile) to heal, and is now giving back to the community through education and interactive experiences, teaching community members to become advocates for their own health and livelihood.
If you find yourself in the area, be sure to stop by not only for some fresh produce, but also to see the inspiring work that is done at Xa Kako Dile.
