A lot of people have heard about Little Plum, the restaurant that recently opened in Manoa Marketplace. After I posted a few pics from my dining experience, I received many messages asking "well, how was it??"
The menu is small, and it's pricey. I believe the menu is the same for lunch and dinner service, so there are no lunch specials.
Here's what we tried today:
ume tomato |
daikon & pohole |
menchi katsu |
dry min |
mochi churros |
We really liked the plates - the ume tomato and daikon & pohole. The dry min was not what I was expecting (think Sam Sato's on Maui). The mochi churros were pretty good - not as dense and chewy as say a mochi donut, but still satisfying, and I liked the slight kinako flavor.
Although I wasn't blown away by the food this time around, I would like to return to try different items on the menu (the chicken karaage buns, ahi tataki and tempura), especially the other dessert on the menu - the lilikoi orange pudding.
I also noticed that the restaurant is loud. And we were there for lunch. It's probably a lot louder during dinner time.
Reservations are highly recommended.
