ZIGU

One Saturday evening we headed to Waikiki for dinner, not having a plan as to where to eat. After walking around for a bit, we decided to stop by ZIGU to see if we could get a table for three. Since it was early, there were lots of open tables, although the waitress warned us that there would be a time limit since it would be busier later on. No problem - we are fast eaters!

Our son recently started eating salmon nigiri, and he really liked the salmon at ZIGU. I have to admit, it was delicious and of very high quality. I had to remind the son that we can't eat this type of salmon all the time!

The agedashi tofu was made with ultra soft tofu made locally, and served in a bowl of dashi sauce that was more like a soup than a sauce.

The son and I really enjoyed the soba and tempura combo.

Assorted Tempura

The son liked the tempura so much that he wanted more shrimp tempura.

The salmon sashimi poke was amazing. No rice needed!
