Newest Sushi Omakase on Oahu - Tempura Ichika

I normally don't like to celebrate birthdays early (I actually don't like to celebrate them at all because I don't like being the center of attention!), but this one was unexpected and I am so grateful for friends who turned an ordinary dinner date into memorable one.

Tempura Ichika was in the soft opening of their new sushi omakase course, and our friends were able to get us reservations on a Saturday night within a few days notice, and better yet, we had the whole counter (which seats 7) and sushi chef to ourselves. I knew this was going to be an amazing experience.

Unfortunately I can't recite the names of each dish (there were too many, and I was too busy catching up on life with our friends), but hopefully the photos will speak for themselves.

Chef Ken Kawakami was nothing short of amazing, and I while I was happy to be celebrating (early) another year of life as I blew out this candle, I was also sad that this unforgettable meal was coming to an end!

Tempura Ichika's Omakase Sushi Course is available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Two seatings per evening at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm, by online reservation only.  The current price per person is $160 plus tax and service charge. BYOB until September!
