Gohan, specializing in made-to-order handrolls and musubis, just opened in the heart of Honolulu on South King Street. They are open 6 days a week from 8 am to 2 pm (closed on Sundays) and offer grab-n-go, take-out, and dine-in. My friend and I met here for lunch at 12:30 pm on a weekday, and the grab-n-go area was just about empty (only 2 muusbis remaining).
We didn't mind, as we had planned to dine-in. We opted to sit at the counter so we could watch the chefs work their magic.
The musubi ingredients are beautifully displayed at the counter.
Here's the menu:
and daily specials. They were sold out of the two specials that we wanted to try - the sukiyaki and hamachi.
Here's a closer look at the ingredients on display:

Parking is available in the building at a discounted rate with validation, or you can park on the meters on South King street or look for free street parking on Young Street.
Note - take-out orders may take a while to prepare during the peak lunch hour ( I would suggest going before the lunch rush to avoid the wait and also to ensure all items are available).
