I rounded up a small group of runners from the 'dawn patrol' group that I run with on Sunday mornings during marathon training season to celebrate the holidays at MARA Restaurant & Bar. The four of us had never been here before for dinner (one had tried their lunch menu), so we were really excited to try something new together.
The best way to dine here is family-style, because you'll want to try everything on the menu! We had a hard time narrowing it down to just a few dishes. Here's what we decided to try:
Spreads Tasting Trio |
Harissa French Fries |
Roasted Lamb Loin Wellington |
Hand-cut Linguine Frutti Di Mar |
Yuzu Lemon Cream Pavlova |
Fresh Farmers Cheese Kunefe |
Everything was delicious, especially the trio of spreads and the lamb Wellington. I'm not a fan of either lamb or Wellington, but this was actually quite satisfying. The linguine was rich but I liked that the linguine is made in-house (house-made pasta is always a treat). Between the two desserts that we tried, we all agreed that the Pavlova was very refreshing and light.
There is customer parking available in the building - it's 3 hours complimentary with validation. We stayed a tad longer than three hours and I had to pay $9 on my way out.
Since I have a gift card to MARA that I didn't use for this visit, I'll definitely be back! I just can't decide whether to come again for dinner to try other dishes on the menu, or try out their brunch menu!
